Deli Crew Member

Job description:

As a Deli Crew Member, you will be responsible for preparing and assembling a variety of deli
items, providing excellent customer service, and adhering to food safety standards. In this role, you will prepare food for customers, price and package items, assist customers with orders, and operate equipment in a safe efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and assemble a variety of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and soups, following recipes and portion control guidelines
  • Slice, portion, and package deli meats, cheeses, and other items for customer orders, while providing excellent customer service by offering recommendations and answering questions about ingredients or products
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including proper food handling, storage, and equipment sanitation. Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage of perishable items
  • Monitor and rotate stock to ensure freshness, minimize waste, and ensure attractive product presentation
  • Operate deli equipment, such as slicers, ovens, and grills, in a safe and efficient manner
  • Manage inventory levels and place orders for deli products to ensure availability

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in a deli or food service setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Required:

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
  • Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods
